Born out of Crofts Engineers Ltd, Bradford England, in the 1920s, Crofts Gears has had a longstanding tradition of innovative and reliable mechanical power transmission products. Building solid gear units remains at the heart of our business.
Our South African operations were established some 70 years ago and later became part of the International Renold Group. Renold Crofts South Africa became adept at operating in demanding environments and continued to build a track record of reliability.
In 2019, we came full-circle and returned to the original Crofts brand under new local ownership retaining all local Crofts’ IP. Our new identity speaks to the existing expectations of our previous production under the banner of Renold as well as the significant transformation we’ve undergone over the years, simultaneously acknowledging the growth of our brand going forward. Today the brand represents a true embodiment of South African resilience. Built for longevity and longstanding serviceability, precision engineering, and technical innovation, set Crofts Gears apart, combined with a passion to put power to work for your production.

We manufacture our gear products at scale in South Africa to Croft’s high Quality Assurance System. The company has its headquarters, gear cutting and parts manufacturing shop on the original site, Crofts Gears (Pty) Ltd, Nesdadt Industrials Sites, 22 Liverpool Rd, Benoni, 1500, South Africa.
